Still Tired

Grrr just lost the post I typed.

I am enjoying the holiday but seem to be speding a good proportion of each afternoon sleeping. I have still been going into school in the morning to sort my classroom out and its all done. Thanks to Liz, my wonderful TA for helping me yesterday. I lost count of how many recycling bags I filled up. Apart from that now much else has happened since the holidays started. Went swimming the other day and even went down the water slide. Havent done that for years.

The scrap page is of Moggie. That is not his real name but what we call him. He is the neighbourhood cat who visits us almost daily mostly for food but sometimes for TLC. He has wormed a place into our hearts.

The end is near

I can't believe it but tomorrow is the last day of the school year. I can't believe my little darlings are moving into Year 4 in September. Some of the still seem so small and immature. But nothing compared to some of the new ones coming down (say that as the infant school is up the hill from us) and it is going to be hard going in September.

Apart from the excitement of being on holiday, not much else has happened this past week. I have made my TA a canvas to thank her but am not going to post here as there are lots of piccies of the kiddies. Quite pleased with it.

It is still hot here in England. But much more bearable than it was last week. If it is still hot tomorrow might head down to a pool for a swim after school. Then will be going in to school for the rest of the week just to get my classromm sorted out.

Tennis Champion

of my tennis club. Played in the club finals today and won. OK so I forgot to mention that most of the higher team players were not playing and I had to play a 12 year old in the final but I won. Actually the 12 year old is someone to watch out for in the future and I give her two years till she will be beating me.

Did some scrapping tonight for the first time in ages. I am working on a few small albums at the moment and hope to get some of them finished in the holidays.

Met my new class on Thursday and they are going to be an interesting bunch. Had two fighting with each other within half an hour. They are in for a bit of a shock in September along with quite a few of the others (and not just in my class) as we are not going to put up with their nonsense.

Not much other news. 7 more school days till the holiday (not that Im counting)

The Big W

Wimbledon that is...... had a great time there on Monday. It was extremelly hot (over 30 degress) and I was very grateful that my seat was in the shade. I saw some good matches on court one....Nadal, Mauresmo and Hewitt. Also a few of the players on the outside courts. Took lots of photos with the idea of doing a Wimbledon/Eastbourne scrapbook. Will upload a few pics on here soon.

However the journey back from Wimbledon was a nightmare. The plan was to meet Fran at Victoria for the 9pm train home. The tube was hardly moving and took over an hour to get to Earls Court and then to make things worse, someone had thrown themself under a train at Victoria underground station so had to get off a stop early and walk. In the end we were lucky and just made the 10pm train.

The rest of the week has been spent recovering. I met the parents of my new kiddies for next year. They seem ok but are academically a lot weaker than this years class. But I am ready to send them on their way (my current class that is) to the next year. Roll on the summer holidays. 12 school days to go not that I'm counting!

sunrise

Here is our picture of the sunrise yesterday morning at about 4am. Why was I up at that hour you ask. Hayfever is the answer, it wakes me up most mornings. The new tablets are really helping but they are also making me drowsy. I go to see the nurse at the new doctor next week so will mention it and see if there is anything else. With a bit of luck the hayfever season will be over soon.

Nothing too exciting has happened the past week. I have been busy at school, rushing home as early as possible to watch Wimbledon. Talking about Wimbledon, I am off there tomorrow and hope to see some really good matches.

It has been really hot here the last few days. Played a tennis match today and it felt like I was back in Hazyview (those reading from SA will understand)
