Leave a message

I would like to see how many people are reading my blog to see if it is worth doing. I know it is nice for those back home in SA to see my photos. So please if you read my blog in the next week while Im away can you leave a comment (even if I don't know you personally) Thanks

Going on a summer holiday

In theory as it is still August but judging on the weather the past few weeks not sure how much summer is left. My parents arrive from South Africa tomorrow morning - a day later than planned due to a cancelled flight. No not because of terrorists but bad weather. We leave for Wales (and probably more rain) on Saturday.

Got started on my circle journal today. It is my first one and am not too sure what I am doing. Today I cut and covered the covers.

Here are a few pages from the album I have been working on for months to give to mum. I can now upload the pages here as mum is on the plane and won't see them here before she gets the album.

A very scrappy day

Had a great day at Joan's scrapping today. Managed to do 3 12x12 Layouts as well as the last page of my mini book.

The cousin layout is of a gathering of all the cousins (and some of their kids) at a family BBQ a few years ago. Another LO is of Hershey Park in America in 2003 and the third of a visit to Bewl Water last year. Fran ran while I rode my bike.

On a sad note, Moggie the cat seems to have disappeared. We thought he might have gone on holiday but after speaking to his owners last night, the havent seen him either. We really miss him.

Gone digital

Have been playing around with digital scrapbooking this past weekend. I found the program quite hard to get used to but in the end I managed to do a page. This was fairly easy once I got going, as it is based on a sketch and I only had to slot the papers and photos in. I think I am going to try to do some more digital layouts. Now I just need to print them to see what they look like printed.

We had a fairly relaxing weekend. The weather has been very cold and rainy in England lately. Typical, I'm on holiday and its cold and rainy. Not much better today Im afraid so I think a bit more digital scrapping is going to be done.

Rochester

Spent some time in Rochester today. Enjoy nosing around the big second hand bookshop and of course the craft store. Was very close to getting a quickutz as they were half price but decided against it. I forget how quaint Rochester high street is. No big store names there, lots of little sweet shops and independent shops. And of course all the old buildings, many of them dating back to the 1500's.

Not much other news. Played in the Tunbridge Wells tournament but lost to a 16 year old. Once again said to myself the tournament is too strong for me and I look forward to being able to play in the over 35 agegroup. Only a few years to go!!!!

Have been doing a bit of scrapping this week, as the weather has not been that great. I am looking into digital scrapping as well as I have got so many pictures to do. I havent quite decided yet though.

Life of Leisure

I have enjoyed the first week and a half of the holidays. Not that I have achieved that much..... a few scrap pages.....a few sets of tennis.....a few exercise sessions at the gym and that is about it.

Played in the Staplehurst tournament on Saturday and missed the final by 1 point thanks to a very slow start in my first match. I am not very good at these tournaments where every game counts. Next on my list is the Tunbridge Wells tournament this week.

Have been dabbling in digatal scrapbooks today. See what happens when I have too much time on my hands. They seem quite easy to do but it doesnt seem the same. But on the other hand I would get lots more pics done. Maybe I'll do both.

Off to be continue being a lady of leisure.
