Funny Weather

The funny English weather continues. One minute the sun is shining and the next it is pouring with rain. That has meant I did not get out on my bicycle like I planned to. This morning we headed back to Lakeside to get some weights for Fran. Then instead of cycling this afternoon did some scrapping instead. This weeks challenge was to scrap a birthday photo and the only one I could find was of my 21st Birthday. It seems like such a long time ago. I'm not totally happy with this page but in the end it seems ok.

Its the holiday

Yipee. Really need this week off.

The last week at school seemed really long. The kids were as high as kites and having a week of rain (and wet plays) didnt help much.

Played a tennis match yesterday. Moving to a new tennis club is the best thing Ive done. We won our first match against a pair I've lost to previously. It was quite a close match. The second match (which was the standard of my previous league) we won very easily. Next match is next Sunday and Im pleased to say am enjoying playing matches again. I think I need the challenge.

Off to the shops today and then hope to come home and do some scrapping.

Lost Kitty

Well technically not lost. He belongs to a few houses down the road but seems to be visiting us all the time. We are a bit concerned about him as he is always hungry and looking for attention. Let him in last night (have already asked the owners and they don't have a problem with it) and he cuddled up with us for a few hours.

Quite grey and wet around here at the moment. Hopefully soon the sun will start shining and break through the crowd.

Scrapping, shopping and tennis

That about sums up my weekend.

Yesterday we went down to the shops and I dragged F into staples to buy some boxes and they fit perfectly into my scrap desk. Now that I was a bit more organised I decided that maybe I should actually do some scrapping. The layout is not brilliant but did use some of a kit Ive had for ages.

Today it was tennis (yes in this horrible weather) We headed out to Essex to play one of our National Club League matches which is like the premiership of club tennis in England. Only problem we should be in the 2nd division but by won it last here so there we are. The girl I played was streaks ahead of me but I have since found out she has previously won a few rounds of wimbledon so dont feel so bad now!!

Of to bed for me now....I'm exhausted.

Tennis Champions of the Future

well......not quite.

Took some kiddies to play in a mini tennis tournament yesterday and enthusiastic as they were some of them were a bit lacking in ability. The boys were ok but the girls didnt do too well. Oh well a good day was had by all and they kids were good sports.

Talking about tennis, none today as the wet stuff has been coming out of the sky most of the afternoon. Not too upset about it though as I have been unpacking some of the last of the boxes. Only a few more to go now. We got a new little table today that just needs to be put together.

Monday Blues

Yes its Monday. Always found Monday's the worst day of the week. Mainly because we have a staff meeting after school. Todays was not particulary riveting. Heard today that next years intake of kiddies have 60% special needs including a few autistic kids. Going to be fun. There are 4 who can't even write their names.

Just been for an induction at the gym. Didnt do any exercise as am still trying to shake this irritating cough. Tomorrow I take some kiddies from school to play in a mini- tennis tournament. Should be fun. Im not expecting very much as their ability is somewhat lacking.

Our New House

Two posts in one day! WOW!

Thought some of you would like to see a pic or two of our new house. We are really enjoying it and look forward to getting a little kitchen table for the conservatory on Wednesday.

The one photo is from the gardne towards the house. And the other photo is the view from our bedroom window out over the fields. We have the low maintenance garden.

Been Scrapping

Eventually did some scrapping again. Started this page weeks ago during the UKS cybercrop. It was one of the classes. Then lost the stamps I used for the stitches which I found a few days ago when sorting out my Scrapping stash.

The FA cup final yesterday was great. What a final and even better that Liverpool won. Not often that I watch a whole football game but that one kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through.

Still not feeling brilliant but am improving all the time. Still not sure if it has been a sinus infection or bad hayfever. I think it is a bit of both. It has been quite warm here in the South East and lots of pollen flying around. Today is cooler and wetter. Nice for hayfever but not if you want to get outside.

Off to Maidstone later to take Fran to do a personal training session. Good excuse for a mooch around the shops.

Another cold

Yes, can you believe it I seem to have picked up another cold. It is a very mild one like I had when I went to SA and seems to on its way out this morning. This morning I had almost no voice and only went to school to do the SATS tests with the children. The came home to rest voice and apart from going to the doc have spent most of the day marking the SATS papers. The kiddies have done pretty well in the reading but the maths wasnt great. Tomorrow it is the mental part of the paper. The doctor says my resistance is low and it could be my allergies (nothing different from various other visits) and no dad it is not my tonsils.

Not being at school today meant that I missed mini tennis practice and now will have to squeeze a practice in before we go to the tournament next week. We are going to be killed. Oh well it should be fun.

Stella the cat from a few houses down was visiting us again this evening. I think we are definately going to get a kitty quite soon. J

Settling in

We have been in our new house for just over a week now and we love it. The move was a long process though. We asked a friend to rent a van and help us move. But he said he knew a friend who had a van. Very well we said. But when he arrived with the van it was tiny. I went off to play my tennis match and Fran went with the friend. On the third trip the van broke down. By the time I got back from tennis only the really big stuff (bed, fridge and washing machine) along with a few boxes to fill the spaces had been moves. So we pretty much spent the next 2 days moving the rest with my car. We went to get our last load (mainly the bikes) on Friday night so are all moved in now. Just a few more boxes to unpack and my scrap stash to sort out.

We spent a week being out of touch internet wise. But all is up and running now with satellite TV and internet installed. All other things are slowly getting sorted out. Off to the gym tomorrow for induction have a few plants that were bought yesterday to plant.

I went to play my first match in the first league for new tennis club and loved it. The team lost but my partner and I won one of our matches. A big improvement from the lowly leagues Ive been playing in for so long. My tennis level is slowly getting back to where it should be.

Now that the move is over, I plan to blog more often and will post a pic of our lovely garden soon.
